Chen Hong Advances at Denmark Open

Chinese shuttler Chen Hong survived a three-set thriller against Canada's Bobby Milroy and advanced to the second round of the Denmark Open badminton tournament.

Second seed Chen Hong came back from one set down to beat Milroy 17-21, 21-4, 21-19 in a first-round clash that lasted 41 minutes.

His teammate Chen Yu had an easier match against Petr Koukal of the Czech Republic, winning in straight sets, 21-12, 21-13.

Home favorite and top seed Peter Gade also advanced to the next stage of men's singles play. He eliminated China's Zou Yanbo 21-12, 21-11.

Malaysian star Wong Choonghann joined his compatriot Roslin Hashim to cruise into the second round, while newly crowned Bitburger Open champion Ronald Susilo of Singapore suffered an early exit from the tournament after losing 2-1 to his Malaysian rival.
