China Sweeps 4 Titles in China Open

China swept four out of five gold medals at the China Open badminton tournament in Guangzhou on Sunday.

Defending champion Chen Hong nipped fellow Chinese Bao Chunlai 21-17, 21-19 to win the men's singles final while veteran Chinese Zhang Ning, 32, lifted the women's singles top honor with a 21-14,21-5 victory over Yao Jie from the Netherlands.

The women's doubles final was an all-Chinese affair as Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen triumphed 21-17, 21-7 over Wei Yili and Zhang Yawen.

The mixed doubles clash was also between the Chinese as Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen clinched a 21-19, 21-5 victory over uninspired Xu Chen and Zhao Tingting.

Indonesian pair Kido Markis/Setiawan Hendra took the men's doubles gold, beating Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng of China 21-16, 21-16.
