Finnish football player Jari Litmanen who currently plays for Fulham Football Club in London suffered from mild heart symptoms last week, local newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reported on Monday.

Litmanen had been sent back Finland after being examined by doctors. After taking a rest, he will return to London and resume training as soon as possible, said the paper.

The 36 year-old Finnish captain has played for Ajax, Barcelona and Liverpool during his career, and has received 110 caps for his country. He is generally regarded as the best football player in Finland.

Litmanen moved on a free transfer to Fulham Football Club in London at the end of January.
