French marksman Franck Dumoulin, gold medalist in the men's 10-meter air pistol at the Sydney Olympics, repeated his glory in the discipline with 683.7 points at the Good Luck Beijing ISSF World Cup in Beijing on Sunday April 13, 2008.

He was followed by Russian shooter Vladmir Gontcharov, who notched up 682.2 points. Kim Jong Su from DPR Korea grabbed a bronze with 682.0 points.

Ranked third in the qualification round with 585 points, the 35-year-old Dumoulin was lifted to the top by the first shot in the 10-shot final.

Gontcharov, 31, bronze medalist at the 2006 World Shooting Championships, and Armenian Norayr Bakhtamyan, 38, runner-up of the World Cup Final in 2004, are proved the main rivals of Dumoulin as the trio took turns to lead.

However, an 8.9 at the fifth shot and an 8.7 at the seventh dragged Bakhtamyan behind, and he hence never managed to stage a comeback.

Gontcharov stirred a fuss at the eighth shot, when he scored just 6.4 point to drop behind. Luckily the following two shots above 10 points secured his place as the fourth.

Dumoulin, in comparison, impressed spectators with his stable performance by making five shots above 10 and the rest five between nine and 10.
