Top 10 buzzwords in China 2010

"Low-carbon" refers to a minimal output of greenhouse gas emissions into the biosphere; but specifically it refers to the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. It is one of the most popular buzzwords at this year's National People's Congress session, China's parliamentary session.

The attending deputies believe that a low-carbon economy would help save a great deal of resources as well as protect our environment. With this thought process, the orientation in which China could transform the mode of its economic development and the world economic development.

Starting from the Beijing Olympic Games, the capital intends on establishing a "Green Beijing." During the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the concepts of low-carbon were also well illustrated.

Numerous new pro-environmental materials with low-energy standards made their debut at Expo 2010. "Breathing" walls and floors were used all over the grounds and recyclable/green materials were common fixtures in most pavilions.
