Top 10 antique markets in China
Beijing Curio City

Beijing Curio City is the biggest center for curio trade in Asia covering an area of about 23,400 square meters. Four floors of antiques are available in a more low-key atmosphere than in many Beijing markets. The charm of the Curio City is that many of the stalls are run by people who have a real collector's love of what they do, rather than being just shop assistants.

There are about 500 stores dealing with ancient porcelain, paintings, calligraphy, jade, carving, bronze ware, antique furniture, carpet, clocks and jewelry. The curio city is like a big museum, and you can just wander around to get more knowledge about Chinese culture. Your eyes will be dazzled by these ancient art treasures.

Not all the antiques are the real deal, though, so look carefully before you buy and haggle as hard as you can.
