Top 10 antique markets in China
Song Xian Qiao Antique City

Any lover of antiquities is bound to enjoy a visit to one of China's largest antique district – Song Xian Qiao Market in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, with more than 500 separate stalls selling everything from exquisite jade pieces to beautiful embroidered silk, and many curios.

Established vendors are housed in a three-story building. Artists of some repute and bona fide antique dealers take up the first and some of the second floor of the main building. Well-known artists reside on the second and third floors. Browse through to discover pieces that are affordable to pieces that are rare and have a price to match.

Visitors will find calligraphy work, ancient currency, jewelry, jade carvings, Buddha statues, porcelain dishes, paintings, wind chimes, carpets, traditional Chinese good luck charms, statues and many carvings to choose from. The Song Xian Qiao Market also proves to be a delightful place to sample some local snacks fresh off rack.

Song Xian Qiao is a great place to bargain shop for friends and family and to pick up odds and ends for an eclectic home. Shoppers should be aware that some items on sale may not be original and bargaining is also required. Weekends see large crowds.
