According to a monthly survey by China Index Academy, which tracks changes in home prices in 100 Chinese cities, the average price of residential homes in January is 8,645 yuan (US$1,316) per square meter, up 0.95 percent than in December.

Among the 100 cities surveyed, Shenzhen topped the list with the highest home prices at 25,004 yuan (US$3,806) per square meter in January, followed by Shanghai at 23,478 yuan (US$3,573), Beijing at 22,650 yuan (US$3,456).
