The style first appeared on douban.com, a Chinese comment website, and then spread widely and became popular among netizens. Usually, the style has no fixed style or content, but consists of a string of declarative sentences followed by question or exclamation marks. (For example: The snarling style is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like it so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

The fans of snarling style think that although the style is simply made up of punctuation marks, it can exactly express the users' mood and emotion, which can not be thoroughly expressed only by words and sentences. Some fans also pay much attention to the order of those punctuation marks to make the snarling style more artistic and interesting.
