Shang Yu Tie is a letter written by Wang Xizhi, the most outstanding calligrapher in Chinese calligraphic history. Although the museum's exhibit is a facsimile did in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the copy expresses the soul of the original piece. The seal stamps for collections made by royal families during the Southern Tang, Northern Song dynasties and other periods occur on both sides. However, the piece still keeps mounting pattern of the Northern Song Dynasty. All of these features make the piece extremely precious.
