Xiamen University, known as one of the most beautiful universities in China, was situated in Xiamen, a famous tourist city in Fujian Province. It was the first university in China founded in 1921 by overseas Chinese, to be specific, the prominent businessman Tan Kah Kee. The university, also referred to as Xiada, has developed itself into an influential comprehensive university embracing various disciplinary areas backed by a highly-competitive faculty team. Presently, it offers 83 undergraduate programs, 279 masters' programs and 185 doctoral programs in 26 academic schools. It also has 15 post-doctoral mobile stations. The university has set up more than 150 research institutions at various levels.
