Shanghai Tower is located at the heart of Shanghai's Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone. When completed in 2014, the building will be part of a skyscraper community, side by side with the Jin Mao Tower and the Shanghai World Finance Center. The building's twisting, asymmetrical envelope features a carefully considered structure and texture that work together to reduce wind loads to save building materials and construction costs. And the spiraling parapet on the top of the building collects rainwater to be used for the tower's heating and air conditioning systems.
