Top 10 auto companies in the world 2013

Forbes has revealed the latest rankings of the biggest and most profitable companies in the world. Rankings are assigned based on a composite score that measures sales, profits, assets and market value.

These leading companies have a combined US$38 trillion in revenues, US$2.43 trillion in profits, US$159 trillion in assets and US$39 trillion in market value. They employ 87 million people worldwide.

This year’s list is the tenth annual ranking published by Forbes since 2004, and spans 61 countries and regions.

This year’s list includes 21 automakers, including four Chinese titans. Volkswagen Group takes the number one spot, followed by Toyota Motor and Daimler. In addition to the top 10, the following 11 are Renault, Kia Motors, Tata Motors, Suzuki Motor, Dongfeng Motor Group, Isuzu Motors, Mazda Motor, Peugeot, Great Wall Motor, Mitsubishi Motors and BYD.
