Students who majored in water supply and drainage engineering, automotive engineering or mineral resource engineering have higher rates of employment than students of any other subject, according to a new study.

The 2013 Chinese College Graduates Employment Report, conducted by educational assessment firm MyCOS, found that the average employment rate for all college graduates has risen by 0.7 percent, to 91.5 percent. Average monthly income has risen as well: college graduates make, on average, 282 yuan more per month than did 2012 graduates at this time last year. The average monthly salary for recent graduates is 3,048 yuan ($497).

Internet developer, mortgage broker and personal financial consultant were the three highest-paying jobs in the country this year, according to the study.
