Wal-Mart Stores, the lead corporation in the retail industry, appeared once again on the Top 500 ranking released by Fortune Magazine on Monday.

Sinopec Group took the third spot on the list, refreshing the highest record of Chinese companies on the list. The top 10 list includes three companies from China, which is the country with the most number of companies on list.

A total of 100 Chinese companies on the list, including Taiwan Region, further shortened the gap compared with 128 companies from the United States.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) is the most profitable Chinese company, ranking No.25 with US$42.7 million in profit, up 13 percent from last year. Based on the asset size, it is the biggest bank in the world.

Tewoo Group in Tianjin City climbed 158 spots from No.343 last year to No.185 this year; consequentially, Tewoo Group is the company with the biggest increase on the list.

The top 500 list, released by Fortune Magazine once a year, is the most famous and most authoritative ranking that measures the capacity of big companies; thus, it's been rewarded as the "Ultimate Ranking."
