Tsinghua University graduates scored the highest monthly salary, 12,807 yuan, among 620 Chinese universities and colleges, according to the 2015 Chinese College Graduates Salary Ranking released by Biaozhun007.com, a commercial survey platform analyzing online figures.

The list, which is based on data from iPIN.com, a professional job hunting website, indicates that graduates with a bachelor’s degree from renowned universities are more likely to earn high salaries in China.

Among the 100 enlisted universities, 68 are from first-tier cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Almost all of the other 32 universities are included in China’s Project 211 and Project 985, the government-funded endeavor to strengthen advanced higher education institutions and key disciplinary areas.

The list also indicates that graduates majoring in engineering, finance, languages and arts are prone to earn more in China.
