The 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Olympic Park is planned to be built on a lagoon-side peninsula near Barra Da Tijuca. The Olympic Village, Media Center and 15 of the 34 sports venues will be built there. The structures were designed by AECOM, the designer of the 2012 London Olympics. The characteristics of Brazil's classic architecture and the local culture will be melted into the buildings.
