Top 10 universities with highest income from tech transfer

Universities' research achievements will be more useful if they can be further developed and turned into products or services.

The latest rankings of the best universities on the Chinese mainland have been released by zuihaodaxue.com, a website which publishes rankings of universities. The website has recently released a list of the top 10 universities with the highest income from technology transfer on the Chinese mainland.

Tsinghua University took top place with an income of 590 million yuan (US$89.8 million) from technology transfer in 2015, followed by the Hefei University of Technology with 250 million yuan (US$38.05 million) and Southeast University with 170 million yuan (US$25.87 million).

The lists rank the top 310 universities among the country's 1,216 universities (published by the Education Ministry on May 21, 2015) which include 793 public universities, 140 private universities and 283 independent institutes.

Here are the top 10 universities with the highest income from technology transfer on the Chinese mainland.
