Which job can help ensure you have a decent income as well as enough free time? Being a freelancer? Bingo, you guessed it.

Insight China magazine, also known as China Xiaokang, as well as Tsinghua University Media Survey Lab have jointly conducted a survey, which reveals the happiness index of Chinese people.

Over half the respondents (52.5 percent) regard wealth and happiness as not necessarily related; 35.1 percent of respondents believe that money can bring happiness and only 12.4 percent of respondents agree that they would be happier with less money.

Even so, income is still the most important factor for career happiness. The expression of personal ability and the room for career development are also key factors, followed by workplace interpersonal relationships, personal interests, welfare, social prestige from work, respect from superiors, position and the power of the employer.

Freelancer is the happiest career with considerable income and controllable free time. Teacher and government official are also regarded as good choices for happiness.

The following is the list of China's top 10 happiest jobs.
