China's E-commerce sector has gained momentum via thriving live-streaming sales in the past year. While top livestreaming hosts keep breaking sales records in the industry, some customers have complained about the quality of products bought in this way.

As livestreaming sales brings both convenience and risks for consumers, the National Radio and Television Administration and the State Administration for Market Regulation issued documents last November to provide guidance for the sound development of the industry.

Consumers also urge online platform operators be held accountable for products and live-streamers involved, suggesting that livestreaming hosts should provide rationale shopping choices, and calling for a sound ecosystem of livestreaming sales.
