8. China's copyright industry is developing fast.

On Dec. 30, 2020, the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication released the results of a report on the economic contribution of China's copyright industry in 2019: The industrial added value of China's copyright industry was worth 7.32 trillion yuan in 2019, accounting for 7.39% of GDP. The added value of the core copyright industry reached 4.59 trillion yuan, accounting for 63% of the total copyright industry. The proportion of income that the copyright industry provides to the national economy has steadily increased, and the overall scale has continued to grow. On Sept. 16, 2020, the Report on the Development of China's Online Copyright Industries (2019), released by the Research Base of Online Copyright Industry under the NCAC, outlined how China's online copyright industry market share in 2019 had reached 958.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.1%. Meanwhile, the online copyright industry maintained a steady growth, the quality of content continued to improve, and an appropriate industrial structure began to take shape.
