Top 10 copyright events in China in 2020

6. The results of the 2020 WIPO-NCAC Copyright Awards are announced.

On Dec. 2, 2020, the NCAC announced winners for the 2020 WIPO-NCAC Copyright Awards. Six works including sci-fi epic "The Three-Body Problem" won the best copyrighted works award. Five entities including xuexi.cn won the award for the best promotion and application of copyrights, and another five more entities including the fifth collegial panel of the Third Civil Tribunal of the Supreme People's Court won the copyright protection award. Meanwhile, four government units, including the copyright management office of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Copyrights, won the copyright management award. The WIPO-NCAC Copyright Awards is the highest award in China's copyright industry. It was jointly established by the NCAC and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2008 to recognize organizations or individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the creation, protection, utilization, and management of copyrights in China. The awards aim to promote the progress of China's copyright causes and the development of the copyright industry.
