Skiing season begins in Northeast China

Skifield of Jingyuetan National Forest Park in Changchun City, capital of China's Jilin Province, opened to public Wednesday.

The Jingyuetan skifield's opening has been suspended for a week since a heavy snow which was continued for nearly three days hit Changchun late last week, according to Diao Chuang, market manager of the skifield.

Fifty centimeters' snow blanketed the trail for beginners and the snowmaker still working incessantly Wednesday morning while more than ten skiers came for the first skee.

Besides, the ski area of Changbai Mountains has already opened early November and Beidahu Skifield, which held the 6th Asian Winter Games snow events, is going to welcome the visitors beginning of December, according to officials.
