American Thanksgiving is right around the corner on Nov 26, so we review three restaurants based on price and selection of classic Thanksgiving dinners with sides and desserts.

Steak and Eggs

For those interested in a take-home meal, for about 800 yuan - the price depends on the side dishes and fixings selected - you get a whole turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable side, cranberry sauce and a dessert (pecan and pumpkin pie are available) that serves up to 10 people.

The take-home turkey comes with a platter which customers can throw in a garbage bag and return to the restaurant afterward. If you dine in the restaurant, the feast per person costs 119 yuan and includes a super salad.

Customers interested in take-home are encouraged to place their orders at least four days in advance. For a restaurant reservation, call ASAP.

Grandma's Kitchen

This staple of American home cooking in Beijing offers a delivered whole roast turkey for 580 yuan and includes cranberry or gravy.

They may not have checked in to see what their competitor Steak and Eggs is up to because Grandma's is offering almost the same amount for less. Customers are encouraged to order their delivered turkey three days in advance.

For those keen on dining out, they offer a 198-yuan set menu for Thanksgiving evening, which includes slices of turkey, a side and soup or salad, dessert (both pumpkin and sweet potato pie) and a glass of wine.

Nola

Nola's serving up a gourmet, Creole interpretation of Thanksgiving this year with a prix-fix of 200 yuan (tack on 70 yuan and get a glass of Domaine de Triennes Gris Rose).

Its offer of roast "turducken" - a turkey, duck and chicken crossbreed - and not turkey might diminish some of its appeal.

There's also frozen eggnog souffle en lieu of pumpkin pie, but fixings like cornbread and andouille sausage dressing, sweet potato casserole and cauliflower gratin will certainly satisfy that craving for the standards.
