Ningxia is a beautiful but mysterious place, and it is full of life. Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is China’s only provincial-level region governed by the Hui ethnic minority. It has a total land area of 66,400 square kilometers, and under which it governs 5 pefectural level cities, they are Yinchuan, Shizuishan, Wuzhong, Guyuan and Zhongwei, with Yinchuan being the capital. Ningxia has a total population of 6.10 million, and the number of the Hui population in Ningxia is 2.18 million, accounting for 35.76% of the region’s total population. Ningxia is, therefore, China’s biggest provincial-level region inhabited with the Islamic Hui ethnic minority. [China.org.cn]
