The Dargo Glacier, known as China's most beautiful colorful one, in Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province, will open to visitors later this year.

The scenic zone of the glacier began to be built six years ago with a total investment of one billion yuan RMB (146 million U.S. dollars), according to the administration of the zone.

The zone, 300 km away from Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, covers an area of 210 sq km, with the glacier' core area of 119 sq km. The zone takes on various colors with the change of seasons.

The administration has signed a tourist cooperation contract with the BCTS Travel Service, a tourism group, to offer quality services to tourists from all over the world.

Zhang Yufeng, director of the administration, said that as one of the five major tourist brands in Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, the Dargo Glacier is regarded as a holy destination by those who long for returning to the nature and a desired place for sightseeing and expedition.
