China Golf Association, International Golf Federation and Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation will release the Haikou Declaration during the 2010 Haikou Golf and Tourism Forum in an effort to promote golf in China. The forum will be held on March 18 – 21 in Haikou, Hainan’s capital.

More than 300 government officials, representatives of tour organizations and golf experts and athletes are expected to attend. Participants will exchange views on golf’s development in China, its possibility as an Olympic sport, and how Hainan’s golf industry can help promote the island province’s tourism.

City officials are trying to develop Haikou into a world-famous golfing destination. It now has ten golf resorts.
