With the advent of the traditional Chinese New Year and the Tibetan New Year, airlines offer smaller discounts to plane tickets for flights leaving Tibet, according to a saleswoman in a ticket office in Lhasa.

At the same time, tickets for flights from Tibet to elsewhere are easy to buy before the New Year holiday.

At the moment, tickets for flights from Lhasas to Chengdu and Chongqiong Municipality are both full-priced. China Eastern Airlines provides tickets with a 30 percent discount for flights from Lhasa to Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
