This tour is one of the most adventurous, scenically stunning and physically demanding trips in the world, through harsh conditions with the gaspingly thin air, past sacred mountains glinting with ice, numerous crystal holy lakes, and remote high altitude deserts to the Rooftop of the World!

Day by day itinerary:  

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Gonggar airport, you will be met by your local guide and escorted to your hotel in Lhasa city (2-hour drive), you will view a Giant Stone Buddha carved into a cliff face en route. After checking in the hotel, rest for a while to get adapted to the high altitude.

Day 2

Your tour today will include Lhasa's cardinal landmarks, the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and the flourishing Barkhor Street.

Day 3

Today we will bring you to the Norbulingka Park, the Drepung Monastery and the Sera Monastery.

Day 4

On this day you will be driven from Lhasa to Gyantse (about 256km, 5.5 hours). Along the way you will visit Yamdrok Lake and a Tibetan family. Tour Palcho Monastery in Gyantse before being driven to Shigatse (about 90km, 1.5 hours). You will stay overnight at Shigatse.

Day 5

In the morning, you will visit Tashilumpo Monastery and the free market, after touring in Shigatse you will be driven to Tingri (245km), where you will spend the night.

Day 6

In the morning, enjoy the sunrise from Mt. Everest. Then drive to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest for you to take a close look at this great mountain. And you could enjoy seeing the biggest and the most well perserved glacier- Rongbu glacier if you are lucky enough for the weather.You will be transferred back to Shigatse.

Day 7

Today you will be driven back to Lhasa (about 6 hours driving).

Day 8

On this day you will be free until your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
