The domestic travel market is preparing for its peak season during July and August with the arrival of summer vacation, according to a report from Xinhua.

The Expo tour in Shanghai ranks high among tourist destinations, as discovered from the reservations on Ctrip, China's top online travel service company.

"Group orders from students are increasing, as are family tours involving children," said Tang Yibo, marketing director from Ctrip. "Tourism attractions near Shanghai such as Hangzhou and Mt. Huangshan are also popular," he added.

In addition, there are several incentives marketed towards young visitors. Children whose height is less than 1.2 meters automatically receive free entry to the Expo, and students are eligible for a 30 percent discount on all tickets.

Many tourism agencies in Shanghai have introduced one day package tours for the Expo covering almost everything on the trip such as tickets, shuttle transportation, tour guide assistance, and escorts for children.
