An amusing touch is an impersonal form letter sent from the Wesleyan alumni association to Soong, who was serving as the co-vice chairman of the nation, urging her to send a donation and inviting her to her class' 50th year anniversary.

Her beauty and elegance, which have endeared her to the people of China as much as anything else, radiate from the glamorous old black and white photos of her in furs and elegant qipao. In one photo, from 1923, she sits in the cockpit of a biplane.

A highlight from this period of her life is the luxurious Russian limosine, a personal gift from Stalin to her in the early 1950s. The car carried her for the next two decades.

The exhibits of the later part of her life take a turn to the official, documenting the good works she did for the soldiers, women and children, and all the official titles she held.

She organized the China League for Civil Rights, which tried to secure the right of trial for political prisoners and supported free speech.

Despite all her titles and official standing, she did not join the party, although two weeks before she died, she was admitted and named Honorary President of the People's Republic of China.
