To find a cool place during this hot July is a hard thing. However, there are some incredible places in Sichuan which will make you cold. Take your coat, as these places are cold rather than merely cool.

Bamboo Forest

Bamboo Forest is located on the junction of Changning and Jiang'an County, Yibin City. It is 81 km away from the centre of Yibin City. The bamboo area is 4700 hectares, covering 28 mountains and more than 500 hills, hence its name. The altitude of the forest is between 600m and 1000m.

The bamboo forest also features various species of bamboo - 58 in total. Furthermore, there are many kinds of rare animals, such as rana adenopleura, bamboo monkey and bamboo frog. As the high temperature in summer won't be over 30 centi degree, it's really the ideal place to enjoy your summer.

Jiuzhaigou Valley

Jiuzhaigou lies in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, southwestern China. Its altitude is between 2000m and 4300m.

The superb landscapes of Jiuzhai Valley are particularly interesting for their narrow conic karst land forms and spectacular waterfalls and lakes. There are over 220 bird species found in Jiuzhaigou Valley, as well as a number of endangered plants and animal species, including the giant panda, Sichuan golden monkey and the Sichuan takin.

Emeishan (Emei Mountain)

Emeishan is famous for its peculiar mountain. Wanfo peak, its main peak, is 3099m above sea level. The renowned scenic spots there are Baoguo Monastery, Qingyin Tower, Hongchun Ping (A Level Ground), Wanniansi (Monastery of Ten Thousand Years) and Jinding (Golden Summit). Its average temperature in July is 11.8 centi degree and the low temperature is about 20 centi degree. Peaks above 2000m are covered by snow from October to the next April. The changing of the four seasons there is not obvious, so it is said that Emeishan only has winter and spring.
