Every summer the Nagqu Horse Racing Festival draws tens of thousands of people to the northern grasslands of the Tibetan Autonomous Region. The festival, which has been held from August 10 to 16 every year since 1995, includes dancing and singing competitions as well as horse racing.A boy prepares for the race with the help of his father and other male relatives.
