Reporters found that there were obviously many more visitors at the Shanghai World Expo Park on Oct. 16 compared with previous days. The surrounding roads were all blocked beginning from the morning, and the visitor flow at various entrances was very heavy. Almost every bus station inside the park had long lines.

At 11:38 a.m., the visitor flow of the Shanghai World Expo Park reached 633,500 people, creating a new record since the Shanghai World Expo was opened. Meanwhile, the accumulated number of tourists also reached more than 64.2 million people, creating a new record in the World Expo's history.

In order to cope with the extremely large passenger flow, the Shanghai World Expo took corresponding measures to quickly launch a contingency plan, which ensured a stable, orderly and controllable situation in the overall operation of the Shanghai World Expo Park.

Park operators maintained smooth public transportation, safety and order in pavilions, as well as the adequate supply of food, all of which received high praise from visitors. The overall operation of the Expo Park remained stable and orderly.
