Dajing Road

Dajing Road extends to Henan South Road in the East and connects to Renmin Road in the West. The short road is only several minutes' walk. Many old Shikumen (stone gate) and folk houses have been destroyed to pave the way for modern buildings. But the old Shanghai flavor can also be impressed by a section of the broken city wall and the Dajing Pavilion.

Dajing Pavilion is located on the 5 km-long broken city wall, which was built in 1553 but collapsed in 1912. It is a three-storey tower first used to house archers to repel Japanese pirates. Later it was changed to Guangong Temple and now it holds the exhibition of the Shanghai old city.

Transportation: take bus No.929 and get off at Henan Nanlu (Henan South Road).
