First 'China-Vietnam cross-border car travel' starts

The first "China-Vietnam cross-border car travel" tour group left China on Monday through Pingxiang Friendship Gate Port in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for Vietnam. The move opens now the way for car-travel lovers to visit Vietnam.

The Tourism Bureau of Guangxi and Vietnam National Administration of Tourism held a launching ceremony for the first tour group of the kind. The tour group is composed of 20 cars and 78 persons.

The whole journey takes seven days and is about 2,082 kilometers long across Nanning in Guangxi; Hanoi in Vietnam, Huế, Hội An, Quảng Bình Province, Thanh Hoa Province, Pingxiang Friendship Gate Port and back to Nanning in Guangxi.

According to new statistics, from January to November this year, total visitors to Hanoi reached 4 million, 700,000 of which were Chinese.
