Now let's see how Chinese people living abroad, are also preparing for the upcoming Spring Festival.

In the Indonesian capital Jakarta, a national lion-and-dragon dance competition was held in the city's shopping center.

17 teams from across the country competed for the title.

The top two teams will go on to the world tournament.

And the champion will get over-booked during the Lunar New Year, as the dance is a tradition for the most important Chinese holiday in Indonesia.

Huang Bo, Captain of Champion Team, said, "This dance keeps people healthy, and it's good for spreading Chinese culture and art."

Local Chinese crowd the markets in Malaysia, stocking up on special purchases for the holiday.

Rice cakes, pineapples, and pumpkins can be seen everywhere.

They are must-have foods during the festival.

Wang Jun, Chinese Malaysian, said, "Every family must buy rice cakes for the festival. It means collecting fortune in Chinese. We also take rice cakes with us when we go to the temple."

Local Chinese will also buy traditional Chinese clothes to welcome the lunar new year.
