4. Jade Hare Islet, Yuyao

Under the light of a full moon, the island looks like the Jade Rabbit of Asian folklore, praying to the moon. 

Located in Liangnong County in Yuyao, Zhejiang Province, Siming Lake is famous for its rippling water, green mountains, as well as a rabbit-shaped island – Jade Hare Islet. Located in the center of Siming Lake, Jade Hare Islet is the largest island in the lake with an area of 270 mu (15 hectares).

Under the light of a full moon, the island looks like the Jade Rabbit of Asian folklore, praying to the moon. Fruit and tea gardens abound on the island, and winding trails make for a good hike. A vocational village, recently completed, has become a popular destination in Zhejiang.

Accessible by taxi or car only.
