On Mar.10, the 5.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Yingjiang county, causing great loss to the beautiful land. The small frontier county has become increasingly attractive.

Basic intro:

Yingjiang county (simplified Chinese: 盈江县) is located in Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, southwestern China. The Daying River runs through the county into Myanmar and becomes a tributary of the Irrawaddy River. There are 21 hot springs, 6 of which steam 90 C.

Yingjiang county is blessed with beautiful landscapes and abundant natural resources. It has a variety of climates, ranging from tropical, subtropical to temperate zones. There are 10 alluvial plains covering over 4.5 square km in the area, among which is the Yingjiang Plain, stretching 516.13 square km and ranking one of the eight alluvial plains in Yunnan. It is rich in the forestal resources with the cover rate 62.8 percent.

Transportation from Kunming:

Take the long distance bus from Kunming Xibu Passenger Station to Yingjiang county.

Ethinic groups: Dai, Jingpo, Lisu and De'ang peoples
