Visitors are seen on a merry-go-round at Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore, May 30, 2011. Universal Studios Singapore, the second Universal theme park in Asia after the one in Japan, officially opened here on May 27 as one of the anchor attractions at the Resorts World Sentosa. Universal Studios Singapore is also the first Universal theme park in Southeast Asia, obviously targeting the regional market including neighboring Southeast Asian countries, China as well as other markets in the region. The theme park of about 20 hectares has 21 rides and shows, including the world's first Madagascar-themed ride as well as the Battlestar Galactica duelling coasters. Other attractions include themes such as Jurassic Park, Shrek, the Mummy as well as some specially created for the Singapore theme park. [Xinhua/Then Chih Wey]
