The Qinghai-Tibet railway embraced a return travel rush peak on Jan. 27, or Jan. 5 on the Chinese calendar, as the Chinese Lunar New Year approached its end.

During the 2012 Spring Festival holidays, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company was expected to carry about 190,000 passengers daily,or 760,000 passengers in total, up 4.4 percent year on year.
