Qionglai municipal government in Sichuan province and the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Group in Sichuan's provincial capital recently announced they were building a national-level resort near Qionglai's ancient town of Pingle.

The resort will consist of traditional Chinese buildings with courtyards, hotels and pubs, Chengdu Culture and Tourism Group chairman Yin Jianhua says.

The resort's construction is part of his group's attempt to make the old town a national-level ecologically friendly destination.
