E-pang Palace (阿房宫遗址), located in the western suburbs of today’s Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, was built in 212 BC, the 35th year of Emperor Shihuang’s reign, as the royal home of the emperor. According to historical records, Emperor Shihuang forced over 700,000 people to build the E-pang Palace on the south bank of the Weishui River. The palace, covering 450 hectares, was totally destroyed during the changes of dynasties over history. After excavating at the site in 1956, the Emperor Shihuang's Heaven Platform and Meiwu Mountain Ridge was unearthed. These two sites are the most notable historical remains of the E-pang Palace.

In 1995, a downsized replica of the palace, covering 52 hectares, ,was built on the original site in 1995 and opened to tourists in 2000. It is a downsized replica of the E-Pang Palace, the royal home of the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC).
