Sanya bans skinny dipping in public beach

The municipal government of Sanya issued a notice on Thursday prohibiting skinny dipping and naked sunbathing at Dadonghai Beach.

Violators of the regulation will be punished, according to the notice.

People who seek doctor's advice of heliotherapy are suggested to wear bathing suits or swimming trunks.

On the same day, a team of security officers, urban management officers, and armed police officers carried out a campaign to persuade tourists not to skinny dip and sunbath naked at the beach.

Since the notice was released, the number of people skinny dipping in the area has decreased.
