The Shanghai Disney Resort will launch a massive recruitment campaign this summer at colleges and universities in Shanghai and neighboring cities, the resort announced today.

The resort will recruit several thousand graduates to fill positions in food and beverage, merchandising, park operations and hotel operations, the resort's management company said.

"We are seeking local talent from Shanghai and across China who are interested in the tourism and service industry," said Mike Crawford, general manager of the resort. He said more job opportunities would be generated with the rapid development of the resort in the next two years.

Covering 3.9 square kilometers, the resort in Chuansha in the Pudong New Area will be Disney's first on China's mainland. It will open to the public by the end of 2015.

The 2014 China Campus Roadshow Program will stop at several universities and colleges in Shanghai before moving on to other regions including Zhejiang, Anhui and Henan. At each stop, senior executives from the resort's management company will introduce Disney's career opportunities to students.

Meanwhile, the resort's entertainment team will give information sessions at performing art colleges in Shanghai ahead of talent auditions in the second half of this year.
