Graphics over the past few years shows a stark contrast between the Palace Museum’s peak time and slack season. Each year, the Labor Day holiday and the National Day holiday are two spikes in term of the number of visitors. Plus, the summer vocation when students are off from school also counts as the scenic spot’s busy time. If visitors want to have a pleasant tour to the Palace Museum, avoiding these periods would be the best policy.

Another prominent feature regarding visitors’ tour route is that 90 percent of visitors would only tour the axis of the Forbidden City, which means walking directly from the entrance Wu men to the exit Shenwu men without visiting the architectures on the east and west sides, where the Palace Museum hold most of its exhibitions. The Palace Museum has numerous permanent and temporary exhibitions on various themes, well-known exhibition halls include Ceramics Gallery, Painting and Calligraphy Gallery, Treasure Gallery and so on.
