 Azure blue water in Hengchun

It is high time to enjoy a tropical holiday. Taiwan is just one and a half-hour flight from Shanghai. The island's east coast is magnificent but delicate while the south coast is full of magic and natural resources. Azure skies, white sand, bright sunshine and exciting water entertainment can bring an unforgettable holiday in Taiwan.

Surfing

Surfing fans will never miss the chance to challenge themselves on Taiwan's east coast. Surfing can be done all year round here. The waves are biggest between Donghe and Changbin townships in Taitung, where the continental shelf extends 50 to 60 meters out to sea, and in autumn and winter when the northeast monsoon blows.

The average summer temperature is 17 to 29 degrees Celsius, while it is 16 to 20 degrees in winter. But summer temperatures can reach more than 35 degrees, so it's important to take precautions against the sun and to stay hydrated. Typhoons are frequent from August to October and surfers should pay attention to weather reports.

The coastal scenery along Highway No. 11 is beautiful, making the coast a vacation paradise. With the green water and blue skies, beautiful wide coastline and clean water, it is a fine stage on which surfers can show their stuff and, in fact, is widely considered a surfing paradise.
