Day 4 destination: hiking on the Lhagang (Tagong) Grassland

"Lhagang" means "the favorite place of the bodhisattva" in Tibetan. Lying beneath the sacred Yallah Mountain, the Lhagang Grassland is a vast expanse of meadow featuring the famous Lhagang Lamasery and golden tower. Look around; you will feel as if you are entering a beautiful paradise that you will not want to leave.

Transport: take a bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station or Kangding bus station to Tagong. There are also vans for hire outside Kangding Bus Station that go to Tagong.

Ticket Price: 20 Yuan

Best time to visit: Summer & Autumn

Day 5 Destination: Xindu Bridge

Xinduqiao is the name of a town. Without any landmark, Xinduqiao is famous for a colorful landscape of fantastic light and shadow, and it is regarded as a paradise for photographers. Transportation: the most convenient and favorable route to Xinduqiao is by car along the Sichuan-Tibet highway. Alternatively, take a coach from Kangding and get off at Xindu stop.
