Shanghai Disney Resort, which is under construction and expected to open by the end of 2015, introduced its design plan at the China International Tourism Mart 2014.

The park, located in Shaxin town of Shanghai, will be the first Disney resort in Chinese mainland and sixth around the world. It will be a magic kingdom-style theme park with Chinese features.

It will have all the major attractions that Disney parks around the world are famous for, including Shanghai Disneyland Park, two themed hotels, Disney town, Walt Disney Grand Theatre and central lake area.

The Disney resort in Shanghai will provide special entertainment for Chinese vistors, including the first global pirate theme area “treasure cove” and the worldwide premiere of the mandarin version of The Lion King in its Grand Theater.

Besides, Shanghai Disney town, adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland Park, will be open to all guests without an admission fee. The area will have five districts Broadway Plaza, Broadway Boulevard, Spice Alley, Marketplace and Lakeshore.

According to Baidu Index, Disney ranked the fourth in terms of search frequency of Chinese mainland Internet users from January to September, lagging behind local brands Happy Valley, Fantawild in Shanghai and Chime Long in Guangdong province.
