Tourists were suspended in the air for nearly half an hour after the malfunction of one attraction at Shanghai Disneyland, local media reported.

Soaring Over the Horizon at the resort's Adventure Isle allows visitors to take off on an exhilarating flight and witness the wonders of the world. The program is highly popular and usually takes tourists two and a half hours to complete.

Xiaowan, a visitor, said the screen showing the grasslands of Africa turned black five minutes after the program started on Monday night.

Tourists were informed of a mechanical failure and urged to be calm, but some screamed as they found themselves suspended in the air when the light turned on.

Nobody was injured in the breakdown, although some became a bit emotional since the malfunction delayed their watching the fireworks show.

It's said that Shanghai Disneyland provided compensation to each visitor, but the resort declined to comment.
